Hello Friends -
I did recently talk about photoshop and some of the wonderful features that are available in that program but the program that really seperates the men from the boys is Adobe Illustrator. Creating vector artwork is really a sign of true creativity and expertise with Adobe products. Believe it or not illustrator is actually better for creating logos and illustrations(hence the name) than photoshop. Since photoshop is more common most people naturally flock to that program, but if you are not editing photos you really need to invest your time and efforts into illustrator. Yes, you can create vector artwork in photoshop but illustrator is king when it comes to illustrations.
One thing that I think scares many people away from illustrator is the "pen tool". It is a very hard tool to get used to when first starting out, but like with anything after practicing with it enough you wll get better.
Once you really get your feet wet and diive into illustrator you will see the power of this progra. Something that is worth mentioning is when creating work in photoshop you are pretty much restricted to the size you created the work. With illustrator you can re-size a work as large or as small as you like without losing the quality of the work.
Vector based work is created using math and not pixels like with photoshop. Since the work is created with vectors you can re-size the image and illustrator will calculate the new size and make adjustments to keep the quality of your work. If you are new to illustrator and are curious to learn more about creating some nice looking artowrk I would suggest checking out sites like lynda.com and totaltraining.com. Both have excellent easy to follow videoo tutorials that can help you get up to speed in no time. And also check out books on this software as well to get extra advice and other perspectives on how to use this software. You can get those books from amazon.com

Photoshop Frenzy
Hello Friends -
Adobe Photoshop is by far the best photo editing software n the market hands down. The amount of things Photoshop is capable of doing is limitless(well almost). You can do everything from retouching a photo, removing red-eye from a family portrait, creating a logo for your website to creating your own little cartoon character. Yes my friends, Photoshop is a top notch software.
Out of all the versions that Adobe has released so far my favorite would have to be CS3. I am completely in love with the new Vanishing POint feature that has been incorporated into Photoshop CS3. Being able to add that extra dimension of depth to your designs is excellent.
Photoshop is also a fun software to use, when you are looking to goof around a bit you can add your head to someone else's body....(comes in handy when you are showing old friends how you look now..but I wouldn't know anything about that hehe ;-) )
The web is filled with different pictures and images that have been created in photoshop. This program really allows you to express your uniqueness and creativity. For you photoshop pros there are tons of mony making opportunities out there for you, for starters you can create a tutorial and post it on certain sites and if it gets picked up that is a little extra change in your pocket. If you like creating logos you can create a small package and post it on istockphoto and if someone comes along and likes what you have created and decides to purchase it you split the profits with Istock(not too bad).
Once again I have to mention the new integration feature of Adobe and their products. You can create your work in photoshop and then export it "as is" layers and all to Flash and once it Flash your work will be automatically distributed to its own layer. That is a new great feature and allows you to keep the quality of the work that you have created.... Next will go into a little detail about Illustrator :)

Intro to Adobe
Hello Friends -
Adobe is by far the most powerful production suite on the market today. You can do everything from create your own custom animations to creating banners and logos for sites. The products of Adobe's that most people are familiar with are Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Each is the leader in their respective categories.
Flash is great for animations as well as product display if you are trying to add a little spice to your website. With some of the newer features in CS2 & CS3 you can do some pretty amazing things. Personally I am a fan of CS3 more so than CS2 for the simple fact of ActionScript 3.
ActionScript 3 was introduced in Flash CS3 and this version of ActionScript is more like actual programming than ActionScript 2. The learning curve for this language is a little greater and the code requirements are more strict than ActionScript 2. But the good news is that if you are happy with ActionScript 2 you do not have to learn ActionScript 3 b/c ActionScript 2 is available on Cs3 & Cs4 versions of Flash. I'm not sure how long they willl keep it around but as long as it's available and you are more comfortable with it you might as well keep using it.
For people more interested in animation dealing with Flash I have come across a great site to help you really get the most out of Flash. The site is CartoonSmart.com. They have a large selection of Flash tips and videos to help you achieve the results you are looking for. If you are looking more along the lines of creating nice websites and using Flash to create a portfolio I would suggest checking out LearnFlash.com .
One of my favorite new features of CS3 is the integration aspect. With Flash CS3 you can load Flash swf files right into your PowerPoint presentation. That's right if you have a Powerpoint presentation and want to add a little flare to it you can add your swf document from Flash right into your presentation. Just make sure you save the Flash file in the same file/folder with your PowerPoint presentation and upload away. You will be guaranteed an "A" or your next homework assignment or really amaze your clients for that next business meeting.
